The What
“Milk is nasty!” This is what kids are saying when they are faced with having to drink milk. The products would be Tapi-Pops, Tapi-Pop2, and Tapi-Pop3 (see page 3 of Product Innovation PDF). In Tapi-Pops, we will use large spheres of tapioca as the vessel for the flavor and the milk. In Tapi-Pop2, and Tapi-Pop3 we have utilized clear packaging, and sugar-free flavored tapioca in the 1%, 2% Fat Free, or soy milks. The Why
Since some people think milk is boring or gross or plain, and many people prefer juices and smoothies, colas and flavored waters, Tapi-Pops are better than all of these because it combines flavor with nutrition with a candy-like gummy treat. In the past candy industry and even today, this type of packaging, candies that burst and are liquid inside of sweet have been popular for the last 20 years. The What
Tropicoco will provide a healthy beverage that can be sold in schools. It is a smoothie-style blend of fresh fruit and all-natural coconut milk. The coconuts we use are processed at a “community transformation plant”, so not only are the coconuts high quality, but they also provide local workers with the opportunity to raise themselves with a better economic standing.
The Why
Our business idea is to use all-natural ingredients harvested from and processed in poverty-stricken countries. These ingredients, namely coconut milk, will be processed in a Community Transformation Plant. While other companies pay workers’ wages that can barely support them even in the poor economy of their area, Tropicoco will provide a legitimate source of income for the workers at the plants, and fair trade prices for the farmers providing for the plants. The What
Calci-Yum uses an innovative bottle design to allow consumers to add however much flavoring they prefer to their milk. The product also provides customers with a mess-free method of adding flavoring to their drink. By pushing a small button at the base of the bottle, consumers are able to release a small amount of flavoring into the milk. The button allows consumers to control the amount of flavoring they put into their drink, meaning that the experience is completely customized. The Why
Calci-Yum provides an efficient way to provide children with their daily intake of calcium. While the beverage itself provides nutrients, the product also appeals to children due to its playful bottle. By manually operating and creating the drink using the bottle, kids are sure to enjoy receiving their daily intake of calcium. While the bottle is fun for kids, parents are sure to appreciate it too, as it eliminates the possibility of making a mess while mixing flavoring into a beverage.
