Our game Eruditious is a twist on your standard 2D Beat-em' up action video game. In the game, one has to define important SAT vocabulary terms in order to influence the events of the game, therefore building and supporting an understanding of some of the most complex words out there. Its concept is simple, the protagonist uses simple melee combat, controlled by the touch-screen with a direction pad and attack buttons, in order to fight waves of enemies with varying attack patterns and statistics, as well as boss enemies. How does your idea address the issue defined in the innovation challenge category?

The game through its mechanics builds the players vocabulary so that not only are they learning a set of meanings for a game, but those same definitions can be flipped and applied to the actual SAT, making this a genuinely good product for both entertainment and education.

Simply put, our business idea is an easy-to-use, educational app that lets kids learn the very basics of chemistry in a fun and simple way. Children will be put to the test in multiple puzzles that ask for require at least a little bit of previous chemistry knowledge to solve. For example, a person will be given hydrogen, oxygen, and another random element. The smartphone or tablet will then inquire which of the two elements are used to create water. Our application, The Missing 118, fits nicely into the niche of Tablet/Smartphone Game Design because it provides a simplistic, yet fun, environment in which anyone, from the average fourth grader to the smartest high school senior, can enjoy and learn from. It is a simple learning game that utilizes two dimensional graphics, sound and music, and the power of the internet to bring a way to interact with chemistry in ways that will surely upgrade the minds of the users. It can easily raise the awareness of many about the growing need for science in the modern world.
