Your Challenge
Design a project that brings together your school, family, and community to solve a local problem and make everyone feel included.

Words to Know
These words can help you understand the challenge and spark ideas for your project:
- Inequality – When some people don’t get the same chances or opportunities as others.
Inclusion – Making sure everyone feels welcome and part of the group.
Community – A group of people who live, learn, or play together (like your school, neighborhood, or town).
Fairness – Treating everyone in a way that is just and equal.
Opportunity – A chance to try, learn, or do something.
Solution – An idea that helps fix a problem.
What to Think About:
Imagine you could build something that makes everyone in your school and neighborhood feel welcome or supported. The project can be as small or as big as you want. Even small projects with just a few people can have a great impact
To help you think about your idea, here are some questions you can ask yourself:

Who is having a problem?
Think about kids who don’t always get invited to play, or families who feel like they aren’t part of the community.
What problem are they having?
Maybe some kids don’t have access to after-school clubs, or new families don’t know how to connect with others.
What solution could help?
You could design a “buddy system” where kids always have a partner to play or work with. Or you could create a community event where families share their favorite foods, games, or traditions.
How would we know it is working?
If kids who used to feel left out start joining in, or if families are meeting new friends and feeling connected, then your idea is making a real difference!

Real World Examples
Other kids, schools, and communities have already come up with amazing ideas to make sure no one feels left out. Here are a few examples to inspire you:

Little Free Pantries (Service/Product)
Outdoor setups where people can take or leave food for neighbors in need.
Little Free Library (Service/Product)
Small wooden library boxes placed in neighborhoods so kids and families can take or leave books.
Be My Eyes (Service/App)
A global app where volunteers help people who are blind or have low vision through video calls.
Now it’s your turn!
What can YOU design to bring your community together and make sure no one feels left out?
