Congratulations to Winners and Finalists in the 2024 Challenge Season!
Here are the top competitors in the 2024-25 academic year NFTE World Series of Innovation.
Imagination League - Aramco Clean Water Challenge
The Challenge: Design a tool or machine that turns dirty water into clean water so people or animals can drink it safely.
Winners
- First Place: CWW, CWW introduces an innovative solution for purifying contaminated water, ensuring safe drinking for humans and animals. Whether in areas prone to storm damage or a third-world country, the system uses a long filtration pipeline stretching for miles to filter out harmful germs. The clean water is collected in a dome, allowing people to fill their containers easily. This sustainable approach eliminates the need for strenuous water-fetching trips, promoting community health and hydration. Developed by Harlyn Bowns (11) and Becca Dean (11), Randall Middle School, Florida See their video here.
- Second Place: Runner Up: 拯救水源之阿里的守护, 拯救水源之阿里的守护 (Guardian of Ali, the Savior of Water Sources) utilizes a fish-shaped sewage decomposer powered by sunlight and nanoparticles to purify polluted water. This device is placed in contaminated water to break down toxins and produce clean, safe water. This simple, low-cost solution is aimed at helping communities, especially those impacted by industrial pollution, restore access to clean water. By leveraging sustainable technology, 阿里的守护 offers an efficient way to tackle water pollution and improve water quality in affected areas. Developed by Ni Yishu (5); 梁默容 Liang Morong (5); 邓婉瑜 Deng Wanyu (5); 俞成彧 Yu Chengyu (5), Suzhou Industrial Park Du Shu Lake Kindergarten, Suzhou, China See their video here.
- Third Place: , The Magical Algae harnesses Cladophora algae to filter water pollutants near the Red Sea. After conducting experiments, this young innovator designed a simple glass tube to filter water using the algae. Together, the community can build a water purification system, transforming their home into a model of clean water usage. This discovery has the potential to spread to neighboring villages, providing a sustainable solution to water pollution. Developed by Laura AL Rahiman (9), Farah Alhammad (9), Asia Basra (9), Saudia Arabia See their video here.
