Congratulations to Winners and Finalists in the 2024 Challenge Season!

Here are the top competitors in the 2024-25 academic year NFTE World Series of Innovation.

Impact League - Aramco Clean Water Challenge

The Challenge: Design an innovative solution that uses technology to create a system to turn dirty or salinized water into safe drinking water for your community.

Winners

  • First Place: Nanogrove, Nanogrove is a self-sustaining Mangrove-based water filtration system combining biomimicry, nanotechnology, and renewable energy principles to provide clean water access to all income backgrounds. Submitted by Almas Ali Alghamdi (17) and Myan Alharbi (17) from Saudi Arabia. See their video here.
  • Second Place: , MoringaShell Filtration creates a low-cost, eco-friendly water filter using Moringa oleifera seeds and oysters. Moringa seeds naturally purify water by removing impurities and bacteria, making it ideal for resource-poor areas. The oyster-based system filters contaminants like plankton and nutrients, improving water quality and supporting biodiversity. This simple, chemical-free filtration method offers a sustainable solution for clean water, especially in coastal and rural communities. Submitted by Hanniyah Ali (13), Meerna Bahuddin (14), and Roaww Hafiz (14) from Madac Academy in Saudi Arabia. See their video here.
  • Third Place: , FlowPure, a water filtration funnel using eco-friendly materials that will deliver clean, safe, and refreshing water to underprivileged and low-income communities through NGO and humanitarian non-profit distribution. Submitted by Saani Dosh (16) from Monta Vista High School in California. See their video here.
