Here are the top competitors in the 2023-24 academic year NFTE World Series of Innovation.

MetLife Foundation Good Health and Well-Being Challenge - 2023

The Challenge: Design a solution to promote high quality access to physical and/or mental wellbeing in your community.

Winners

  • First Place: ReactGlove, an innovative, assistive glove designed to stabilize hand tremors for individuals with Parkinson's disease and similar conditions, providing enhanced independence and dexterity in daily activities. Submitted by a team from Texas, USA. See their video here.
  • Second Place: Lannec, a digital stethoscope to provide affordable, accurate heart measurement for cardiac disease patients - anytime, anywhere for everybody. Submitted by Tony Chen (15), Inesh Upadhyay (16), and Caden Wu (16) from James Ruse Agricultural High School in Australia. See their video here.
  • Third Place: LifeWatch, a smartband that detecting fentanyl overdoses and saves the lives of overdosing, will combat the growing fentanyl crisis. Submitted by Liz Liu (15), Aidan Ruan (16), Steve Lam (17), and Lyubomir Tzankov (15) from Monta Vista High School in California, USA.

  • NightGuard, offering a comprehensive and customizable solution with discreet functionalities and community engagement for enhanced safety during nighttime activities. Submitted by a team from New York, United States. See their video here.
  • Pawfect Date, an application connecting the local elderly community with compatible pets, alleviating the stress of caretakers and ensuring the daily needs for physical activity and social interaction are met for both pets and elders. Submitted by a team from Taiwan. See their video here.
  • PopVax, an quick and alternative solution to vaccinate those in need. Submitted by a team from Florida. See their video here.
  • SamariAID, an AI-based mobile application that provides instant first aid access by accurately classifying wounds and generating simple instructions to stabilize injuries. Submitted by a team from California. See their video here.
  • Sugar Tears, an affordable and noninvasive way to monitor glucose levels through tears to help increase accessibility and financial capability of diabetes patients. Submitted by a team from New Jersey, United States. See their video here.
