MetLife Foundation Good Health and Well-Being Challenge - 2022

The Challenge: Design a solution to promote equitable access to physical and/or mental wellbeing in your community.

Winners

  • First Place: MADS, advances SDG 3 by developing a device that monitors adulterated milk concentrations in underdeveloped communities in India. Developed by 17-year-old Aaditya Sharma and 16-year-old Advay Bajaj from Strawberry Fields High School in India. See their video here.
  • Second Place: Impatch, advances SDG 3 by developing a a micro-needle patch that administers hormone treatment for transgender communities. Developed by 17-year-old Verena Wong, 17-year-old Jessica Wang, 16-year-old Isabella Song, and 16-year-old Sophie Lin from Westridge School for Girls and San Marino High School in California.   • Third Place: UmeedVR, advances SDG 3 by developing a virtual reality game to offer affordable therapy to patients with autism. Developed by 17-year-old Hridyanshu, 15-year-old Kavya Gupta, 16-year-old Kunal Bhardwaj, and 15-year-old Pranav Chahal from Amity International School Saket in India. See their video here.

  • BubbleOn, advances SDG 3 by designing novel nanobubbles that can discharge medications to patients with epilepsy. Developed by 15-year-old Sanchali Banerjee and 18-year-old Sohini Banerjee from Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Virginia. See their video here.
  • Essential Care Center, advances SDG 3 by offering mental and physical healthcare resources to Spanish-speaking communities. Developed by 16-year-old Jollet Garcia and 15-year-old Jocelyn Blanco from Pajaro Valley High School in California. See their video here.
  • GrandmaPath, advances SDG 3 by designing a user-friendly navigation app to reduce the incidence of elderly pedestrian accidents. Developed by 14-year-old Sunwoo An from North London Collegiate School in South Korea. See their video here.
  • Mind Crusaders, advances SDG 3 by building an online platform that supports individuals in mental crises situations. Developed by 14-year-old Atharv Parrek, 14-year-old Ridhav Kothari, and 14-year-old yana Hingad from Rockwoods International School in India. See their video here.
  • PERCH, advances SDG 3 by streamlining healthcare communication through a compiled database that assists patients with limited healthcare literacy. Developed by 16-year-old Kian Salimi, 16-year-old Theodore Gaillard, 13-year-old Shayan Salimi, and 13-year-old Aidin Salimi from The Nueva School in California. See their video here.
  • Strive for Stride, advances SDG 3 by launching a website and mobile that provides young people access to footwear fundraisers to promote equal access to affordable footwear. Developed by 16-year-old Ethan Lo and 16-year-old Minh Annh Vo from Blair Academy in Vietnam. See their video here.
  • Sunrise Senior, advances SDG 3 by launching a senior community center to incentivize healthy habits. Developed by 17-year-old Jasmine Aquinde from Independence High School in California. See their video here.
