Zuora Subscription Economy Challenge - 2023

The Challenge: Design a solution to fight climate change and advance sustainability through innovation in the Subscription Economy.

Winners

  • First Place: Evergreen, a data-driven solution to reduce food waste in schools by recombining ingredients into more sustainable, affordable, nutritious, and delicious meals for students. Submitted by Arjun Bindra (17), Jeevan Bindra (16), and Yashwin Sajja (17) from Jericho Senior High School in New York, USA. See their video here.
  • Second Place: Greenfuse Lens, a biodegradable contact lens that uses groundbreaking technology to offer an accessible, eco-friendly alternative to single-use, plastic contact lenses. Submitted by Maanav Rajesh (17) from Carmel High School in Indiana, USA. See their video here.
  • Third Place: Maternal Moments, a clothing service for environmentally conscious expecting mothers who need a boost of self-esteem with stylish, affordable, upcycled clothing. Submitted by Avneet Kaur Sahota (16), Jershika Evelyne (15), Nowshin Saiyara Mahmud (17), and Sahiba Sethi (18) from Harold M.   • Chiang Mai Scholar's Sustainability, a business that provides a subscription service to public entities and corporations to reduce their trash intervals while recycling their waste for the benefit of underdeveloped communities and educating the public.   • Egreen, a business that makes recyclable and biodegradable products in which it delivers the products sustainably with electric drones and packages them using corrugated cardboard boxes. Submitted by a team from California, United States. See their video here.
  • GreenMeld, a sustainable, customizable, and pollen-based sponge, offering a unique solution that combines environmental responsibility with unparalleled versatility and skin safety in makeup application. Submitted by a team from South Korea. See their video here.
  • Moroccan Heart, an integrated application combining commerce and philanthropy, connecting local producers to the market and facilitating transparent donations for urgent needs, fostering sustainable development in remote Moroccan communities.   • Script Cycle, a subscription that allows offices to conveniently recycle papers and office supplies in exchange for newer materials and resources with minimal negative environmental impacts. Submitted by a team from California, United States. See their video here.
