What is SDG 8? SDG 8 aims to promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all. It emphasizes the importance of fostering economic growth that is inclusive and creates opportunities for everyone, while ensuring that all jobs are safe, fair, and productive.

Why is it Important? Decent work and economic growth are critical for improving living standards and creating opportunities for everyone. By developing innovative approaches to employment and economic development, we can help communities thrive, reduce inequalities, and ensure that everyone has the chance to succeed.

Think about how you can contribute to creating better job opportunities and promoting sustainable economic growth.

Need Inspiration? Here are some ideas to help you think creatively about how your idea can contribute to decent work and economic growth:

  • The Rise Fund, founded by TPG and Bono, invests in businesses that are committed to creating positive social and environmental impact. By funding companies that promote economic growth and decent work. The Rise Fund supports innovations that can drive sustainable development and job creation.
  • Shopify’s Entrepreneurship Program, this e-commerce platform, offers a variety of resources and support to help entrepreneurs start and grow their own online businesses. Through its initiatives, Shopify helps create new job opportunities and stimulates economic growth by empowering small businesses and startups.
  • The Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s Circular Economy promotes the concept of a circular economy, which focuses on creating sustainable economic systems by designing products and processes that reduce waste and maximize resource use. This approach can create new types of jobs and contribute to economic growth while protecting the environment.
Use your creativity and problem-solving skills to develop a project that advances SDG 8. Embrace the challenge and make a meaningful impact on the world of work and economic growth!
